About the author:
After a couple of model plane building, I took a brief attempt to flying
a Piper J3 around 1967, short lived because the aero club was disbanded.
My interested for airplanes stayed dormant for a long time, I found
Micro$oft attempt to Flight Simulation interesting, tried FS 4.0, bought FS
5.1, FS 95 and became really hooked on simulators with FS2000/2. I will
probably buy FS 2004, despite the complete lack of customer support for this
kind of software.
I did eventually marry at 57, my wife found that I was spending too much
time on the computer flying virtual planes. She then, had the good idea to
subscribe to a flight class for me. A few months later I was a Licensed
Private Pilot and happy to be able to fly real planes.
I now often fly at Visan, France, Motueka , New Zealand and with MSFS
2002, for which I have designed Valreas-Visan airport scene, my favourite
airfield with Motueka, of course...
